Hosed laptop?
I have an XP work laptop that I was attempting to connect to a home network. My home machine is Vista Premium and had been configured to connect thru VPN to my work network. Because I wanted to use the DVD drive off the home box,I changed from a domain to a workgroup so I could set up file sharing. Then on the laptop, I did the same thing, but had to restart. After restarting, it still asks for a user name and password. The work network username and password now fails, but I have no idea what to use for the workgroup, since I don't have any accounts on it. Any ideas? Am I hosed and now relegated to reinstalling everything when I get back to work on Monday? thanks

Either at work, an admin set it to prevent to be tampered with, or you do something wrong. Try Administrator (local) and no password. Otherwise, go an beg to put it all back. And BTW, if you are not an IT admin, you should not mess with 'work' equipment, we don't appreciate that ;-)
