How can I permanently remove a wireless network profile or stop connecting to it automatically?
The problem relates to my laptop connecting automatically to my nieghbours unsecured public wireless network. I have used Manage Wireless Networks to highlight and remove the offending network, butVista keeps detecting it and it comes back on the list andconnects it automatically when my own wireless network is not connected! I have tried changing the offending network's properties under the Connection tab so that it does not connect automatically (by uncheck the connect automatically box), but it changes it (by itself!!!) back to automatic connection and continues to connect automatically to my nieghbours wireless connectionif my own network is not connected!!!! Normally, even if I did nothing and left it there it should not be connecting to the offending network without a prompt, asin my understanding, Vista should never connect to an unsecured network automatically... HELP!

Hello ticino06, Try the following and see if this helps. 1. In the Network and Sharing Center, under Tasks on the left side, click Manage wireless networks to bring up the Manage Wireless Networks window. 2. Right-click the SSID (network name) that displays in the list and choose Properties from the menu. 3. Click to clear the"Connect to a more preferred network if available" checkbox. In addition, you can also try using the Netsh command and block networks by specifically adding the wireless network to the list of denied networks.
