Hello, I accidently formatted one of my drives which was previously encrypted. I tried some third party software as "recover my file" but it didn't work. Later then, I experimented on a formatted (not encrypted before) usb drive to recover files by same software and it did work. After that, I encrypted the usb drive and then formatted it. Then I tried to recover by same software, but it didn't work. So, it's apparent that it is not possible to recover from a encrypted and formatted drive by a usual recovery software. Is there any other method that can help me. Please inform, I'm in a dire need. Thanks.

Which software you had used to recover files? Please be brief "Didn't work" - Either your files become overwritten or you hadn't followed the proper steps to recover files. Try Stellar Phoenix Partition Recovery Software (goo.gl/5eEjN), pretty good in recovering files from encrypted or re-formatted files. You can select Quick Recovery for fast scanning or Deleted File Recovery for advanced scanning method (Takes time but give precise and more accurate results). Hi, BitLocker is just a feature to encrypt the drive. However, if the user would like to format the drive, BitLocker feature cannot prevent the encrypted drive to be formatting. After formatting, the BitLocker feature will also disappear since the formatted drive is a new drive. If you would like to recover the data, you have to use some third party software or contact the local data recovery company to recover the data. I tried "recuva" as well as "recover my files". But they were not able to recover a single file. I did nothing but quick formatted the drive and tried these two softwares. My files are not over written, I've not saved any data after being formatted on this 107GB hdd. I'm now looking for good advice which can help me recover my data.

"A format recovery is not possible if the drive was encrypted with Bitlocker" it was the reply of a data recovery company from UK named OTRACCK DATA RECOVERY. So, is that it? Is there any hope left? Or I should start to write on this drive (as all other drives are now full in my pc). If had known about this drawback of encryption, I'd have never encrypted my drive. I've lost all of my important data of my "life". What a irony of fate. :( :(
