oh really and i didn't knew it trust me i know all about disk managment the letter is not there it stuck somewhere in windows registy in mounted devices because your OS did not detected that it no longer in use but any way it's of little relevent now because i have eventually managed to install ubuntu 8.10 on this partition and now windows can't even see it because it doesn't support ext3 and by the way linux support windows file system windows is the one that doesn't support ext3/4 partitions and as for the mounted device i'll find it eventually when i have time to work on this.

To dual boot Linux and Windows, install Windows first but do not use all of the disk, then install Linux in the remaining space. Ubuntu and Debian use the Grub loader, and that works fine in a dual boot situation. Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)! I would say, to go back to the disk management window, and check to see if the any drive is showing offline.

I'm sorry, but it isn't at all clear what you're trying to say or ask. Is English a second or third language for you? If so, may I suggest that you try posting your question in a news group dedicated to your native language? I say this not to insult or offend, but rather to point out that you're not likely to get much help, if no one can understand what you're asking. Otherwise, I'd suggest you start by reposting in standard English, complete with paragraphs, complete sentences, capital letters where appropriate, and especially punctuation. As it is, your post is quite undecipherable: most of the the words used are from the English language, but are completely meaningless as currently assembled.-- Bruce ChambersHelp us help you:http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.htmlhttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. ~Benjamin FranklinMany people would rather die than think; in fact, most do. ~Bertrand RussellThe philosopher has never killed any priests, whereas the priest has killed a great many philosophers.~ Denis Diderot
