How do I remove Hotfix.exe virus?
I haven't downloaded anything recently, nor have I opened any risky e-mails. Today in the middle of an MSN chat, a pop-up came up claiming that I had a trojan. I of course closed the pop-up knowing it was most likely spyware trying to mask itself as an anti-virus. I then noticed a new program on my desktop. Think Point. My PC Froze and I was forced to restart it. Now it starts up whenever I start my PC including in safe mode. I can't delete it because it's always in use... I can't open my task manager to end the process because the program blocks it. Please tell me how I can remove this virus from my hard drive. I have NO idea where it came from and it's caused me nothing but grief...Thank you very much1 person needs an answerI do too

If it's happened recently, run System Restore to restore the computer to an earlier date:Restart the computer and start tapping the F8 key, select the Safe Mode with Command Prompt option. If you are asked to select an operating system, use the arrow keys to select the correct one and press Enter. Log on as an administrator or with an account that has administrator credentials. At the command prompt, type %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then press Enter. Follow the prompts to restore the computer to an earlier date.Good luck.
