How do you identify the BitLocker encryption status of a Windows 7 laptop
How can I determine the encryption status of Windows 7 laptops in our environment i.e. encrypted, decrypted, encrypting, decrypting, not encrypted - by a registry setting or otherwise. I intend to run an SCCM report to gather this information. A laptop may have the BitLocker software and services running, but may not necessarily be encrypted. Thanks! MK

Hi, manage-bde -status shows the information. Another way is to use wmi/vbs. Search for enablebitlocker.vbs. This is a script from microsoft scriptrepository. You could extract the code to check the status of bitlocker. Greetings Th0u

Hi, manage-bde -status can show the current information of the Volume. Also , you can use the Disk Management to get these information. And if the laptops are in the domain, you can find it in AD. If you want to deploy the SCCM, you may access Microsoft technet SCCM forum, for more information: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/category/configurationmanager So that you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forum regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.
