How does one network all folders
I need to know how to network all drives and directory(except Windows and Program files). Running 5 computers in the home. Three have W7 RC and 2 have XP Pro. When all of the computers were running XP Pro all of the drives and partitions were accessible. W7 is being a bear with this. I would like to no a process that will let me see all drive and access them. I have had files that I copied from another computer using a flash drive and found that I didn't have rights to open it. (This is crazy for a home user) I have finally setup W7 units to home networks. I am talking about 9 drives and 23 partitions. Operating Systems on the drives include W7RC, W7RC 64bit, Vista 64, XP Pro, ME and Windows 95. Can't access any parts of the Vista and W7 drives. In family time we used to play games on Lan just because no one wanted to leave their computers. Not with W7. How can all of this security be turned off? I don't like being protected from myself. Myself or the computers are not on Prozac so we are not trying to kill each other or ourselves. Please help me out here so we can get back to our normal. I must point out that I am not an IT or network person, so please don't assume that I will know all of the terms you may use. Also in permissions define user and group, because nothing seems to work.

I dont think there is a single command that chooses all folders on a drive except A or A and B. However, what you can do is share the whole drive in Windows 7, as follows: Go to the Windows Orb (Start), type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter, then right-click the drive graphic > Properties > Sharing Tab > Advanced Sharing > tick Share this folder and type in a Share Name > Apply > OK. Now go to the Security Tab > Edit > Add then type Everyone (not the quotes) > Check Names > OK and below it select your preferences, e.g. Full Control, etc. > Apply > Reply Yes to any security message > Keep pressing OK to any deny messages > OK, etc. to finish.

Got the W7 machines down at the moment. Tried it on the Vista 64 machine and it worked like a charm. This is what I want it to do. Thank You JB
