I would like to confirm if the lync client update is displayed through traditional Windows Update. If this case, you can just disable the Windows Update feature in a GPO.

But I don't want disable my windows update feature, it is an important feature which we are always using.
Please tell me if there is any way to disable the notification on client, not on server!
