How to find the location of our WSUS server?
Can someone tell me where to look to locate where my pc running windows 7 pro is getting it's updates. We have a WSUS server but not sure of the location? I don't have access to the group policy update policy to see the WSUS address. Should I check the update log files, use wusa.exe, windows update panel under update history, upstalled updates, etc, where? Thanks Bob

Bob, You can look in the C:\windows\windowsupdate.log And everytime the windows update agent service starts it will tell you in the log file witch WSUS servers are used. This is an example: 2011-04-22 16:21:34:722 544 c04 Agent * WSUS server: http://servername:port 2011-04-22 16:21:34:722 544 c04 Agent * WSUS status server: http://servername:port 2011-04-22 16:21:34:722 544 c04 Agent * Target group: (Unassigned Computers) 2011-04-22 16:21:34:722 544 c04 Agent * Windows Update access disabled: No Or you can you can look in the windows registery (but since you are a standart user is this a harder option. :) ) But here is some information about the registery locations: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc708449(WS.10).aspx Kind Regards DFTIM me - TWiTTer: @DFTER
