How to make drives invisible?
Greetings, I would like to make certain HHD's invisible in Explorer and other locations as well... Especially thru the network. I have 2 wired systems, I am admin on both... Only I have access to one, but the other is a family system... I would like most of the content on my system to be invisible to the family system. I'm sure it has something to do with permissions and such, right? hagatha

Hi Hagatha, you can use bit-locker feature which is inbuilt in Windows7.But make sure all the steps to enable bit-locker should be very carefully.

Hi Hagatha, you can modify registry to hide certain drive in Windows Explorer, you can refer to the following KB article: Hide physical drives in Windows Explorerhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/231289Note: you can create the entry if "explorer" is missing from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer . You can also refer to the following article:Using Group Policy Objects to hide specified driveshttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/231289Hope this helps!Sean Zhu - MSFT
