How to prevent copying file into USB memory stick?
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent copying file into USB memory stick? but allow user to read it from USB memory stick.Thanks in advance for any suggestionsEric

Right Click on the Drive, go to Properties., then click the Security tab, you should be able to modify the rights for other users so that they can only read (and possibly execute) whats on the drive. I cannot see the Security tab by clicking the properties of the drive,do you have any suggestions on how to locate it?Thanks in advance for any suggestionsEric

Hi oem7110, You can follow the below steps and check if you get the security tab. Do login as administrator to make the required permission changes -1. Click Start and in the start menu go to computer.2. Now in the new window that opens, you will get the USB drive listed as removable device.3. You can right click on the drive listed here and check for the security tab. Now you can modify the rights for the various users. I am using XP, when I attach my USB memory stick, and click on Properties, there is no Security tab for selection, and I am login as administrator.Does anyone have any suggestions?Thanks in advance for any suggestionsEric
