Lets see if I got this right. You changed the location of the OE message store. Now you have the equivalent of a new identity with no messages in it. Is this correct? In your current OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Is this the same location that your missing folders are at? Or is it a new location? If it is a new location: File | Import | Messages | MS Outlook Express 6. Browse to the location of the message store you moved and see if you can import from an OE store directory. If not, you will have to drag all the dbx files to the Desktop and import each manually. Yes I have changed the location. Yes equivalent...without old message I have changed the location from tools | option | Maintenance | store folder ....already..from default location... Administrator | Local Settings | application data......( and so on ) to ...d: | My mail box..( where all my previous mail has) But now If I am trying to import from D: my mail...my new mail get imported...not previous...

The location of your message store in Tools | Options | Maintenance is a different location than where you are trying to import the messages from. Correct? If I understand correctly, you should have two folders with dbx files in them. The old folder you moved, and the new folder you have now. Call the old store folder A and the new store folder B. When you try to import into B, you must be pointing to A, not B. Do an Advanced search and include Hidden Files and Folders. Search for *.dbx Your old folders should have substantial size and your new ones much less. Make sure you are trying to import the right folders. If the normal import fails, and you see the files you want, then follow the manual instructions. Now if you did try to import before and saw a message that said: "Do you want to overwrite......."? And you said Yes, then you did wipe out the old messages. It that is the case, then DBXpress run in Extract From Disk Mode is the only chance to recover messages: http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/Default.aspxBruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]

Changing the OE store folder location should be to an empty folder. Anything in the new folder will be overwritten. The correct procedure would have been to import from D, then change the store folder to D.
