How to remove 7 RC from multi-boot with 7 Pro
A certain well-known AV and a partition manager borked Vista home premium on my 64-bit HP notebook about a week after 7RC was released, so instead of fixing Vista, I made another partition and installed the RC in a multi-boot setup. Vista was eventually repaired but has since been replaced with a 7 Pro upgrade on the C drive, so I need to remove 7 RC. All the instructions I've seen for removing 7 RC from a multi-boot refer to Vista or XP and don't fit this situation. Are the steps the same as if Vista was on C?HP dv4-1120, 64-bit, 250gb HDD w/ 3 partitions, 4gb ram, etc.

You'd follow the steps outlined here in step 4 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971762/ Scenario 4: You have a multiboot system that has Windows 7 installed You installed Windows 7 on a separate partition, and kept the earlier version of Windows on your computer. Hi Jward52, Although the Windows 7 RC operating system drive letter is C in Windows 7 RC and the Windows Vista operating system drive letter is also C in Windows Vista, but the real Drive C is Windows Vista operating system drive. I mean Windows Vista should be installed on the first physical drive and Windows 7 RC should be installed on another physical drive. Please launch Disk Management to check if my supposition is right. If Windows Vista and Windows 7 RC are installed on the different physical drives, you may perform the steps Cdobbs provided to remove Windows 7 RC. Regards, Arthur Li - MSFT
