How to remove the games folder - Windows 7
Hello, We are deploying an image and would like to remove the games folder from the start menu in Windows 7. We would like to use a script/policy/command line to do so. When you run the command from an elevated command prompt logged on as administrator you still get an access is denied error. We have removed / reassigned permissions with CACLS to try and assign full permission to that folder, still receiving same message. Tried changing owner to administrator account, still same message, anyone have more ideas? We are going to try and delete it by running a batch file as system, this didn't work either. Thanks

Hello Mar, Do you just want to get rid of the startmenu entry or get the games completely off the system ? Note that by default Windows 7 Enterprise does not enable the games, so assume you are using another widnows 7 SKU (not sure what the default is for professional). Have a look at the system image manager , there you can disable the games installation and then save the unattend.xml you use for your deployment. You can also run the following command on a running system. dism /online /disable-feature /featurename:InboxGames Hope this helps Alex
