Hi i just upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1 preview and had genuine windows 8 installed, but once i upgraded it to 8.1 i am having a water mark on my desktop saying "Windows 8.1 Preview Evaluation Copy Build 9431". please how to remove it as it is annoying verymuch

ths is by design. All pre-Release Versions have this watermark. Install the 8.1 RTM and activate it to remove the watermark.

Microsoft came up with a update that brings that notification back after activating. I put a post before about the update. IF you check your updates it will be one that saying something like.

This update resolves an issue where people with preview installed will not be notified of the release of windows 8.1. To be notified of the release install this update.

When you do update the water mark is visible
