How to specify where the offline files stored?
Is it possible to tell the Sync Center where to store the offline files? If not, where are they stored?
I am trying to sync a folder of about 30GB big. So I think if I manually copy the files over to start with, the synchronization could start quicker. Perhaps the format of the offline files are not the same that we can see with Windows Explorer.

Hi,
Configuring New Offline Files Features for windows 7 Computers step by step Guide
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff633429(v=ws.10).aspx
Please make sure you already enabled the Offline files. Do as the steps below to enable the Offline files setting.
1. Open control panel, point to Sync Center and click it.
2. Then open the Manage Offline Files.
3. Click enable the Offline Files.

Hi,
The link Mohammed provided was helpful. Pay attention to changing the limits of sync size. The sync folder location is C:\Windows\CSC.
If it is possible, you may sync the folder profile and find the location, then copy the rest 30GB data for testing.
Here is a guide can help you.

Thanks Mohammed for the information.
I am talking about systems in a workgroup network, not in a domain. Does the information
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff633429(v=ws.10).aspx still apply?

Thanks Ivan a lot for your information.
I suppose you are saying the sync folder location is C:\Windows\CSC and it is not changeable. One of my Windows 7 Pro computer has this folder in there C:\Windows\CSC\v2.0.6 though I have not got Windows Sync Center enabled. I wonder what v2.0.6
is.
The web page your suggested is great and it is very helpful. I can't find from
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff633429(v=ws.10).aspx how to change the limits of sync size though. Could you please clarify?
I am not quite sure of your statement of "If it is possible, you may sync the folder profile and find the location, then copy the rest 30GB data for testing". Is it possible for me to manually copy the files over instead of totally relying on the Sync
Centre to do the job? I have suppose the former could be quicker. If not then it wouldn't be necessary.
By the way, do you think it would slow down the client system in everything if a big sync size is implemented?

Hi,
It would slow down the client but not in everything.
