How to stop prompting for credentials with downloading Microsoft Office documents
I've got kind of a weird bug where I have found similar topics, but none directly to my problem and was hoping someone might have a solution. This issue is replicated against several models of laptops all running Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise x64 PreSP1 with IE 8 and Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus. If you navigate to a https:// page in IE8 and click a link which navigates to a office document and select to open the document you are prompted for credentials via the UAC. It doesn't matter what you enter it prompts you 3 times and then office opens the document. If you save the document you are not prompted. As I've said I've tried this against different laptops and verified I can replicate it on them all. I've also verified that it is only if you are on a "secure" website with are opening office documents. Any idea's?

Hi Cameron shaw, What’s your UAC setting? Does this issue happen when you use other internet browser instead of IE8? What kind of office documents did you open? Does it need the permission? Please add the website that you want to open an office document to the trusted sites, Tools – Internet Options – Security Tab, click Sites, input the website under “Add this website to the zone”. Now check if the issue persists. In addition, when the credentials prompt, did you click “save this credential”? Please save the credential to check if it works.
