How trustworthy is the disk analyzer in W7
When i use W7a system notification says that my HDD has some errors and i should do some backup... i analyze it with the checkdisk tool in the DOS-like screen before itloads windows and it founds nothing on it; but is still showing that my HDD is broken =S should iboy a new HDD orW7 dont like SATAHDD's??Oh and can someone make the chkdsk tool say where in the disk is that supposed error? cuz i have two partitions in that HDD and in the primary is XP and in the extended is W7 =S and i dont know if the error is in the W7 disk or in the XP disk... it will be very handfull =PSooo thanks

I would be very hesitant to rely on the accuracy of a disk-checking tool in a beta operating system. Of course, it is possible that your hard drive does have errors. I would check it with a diagnostic utility downloaded from the hard drive mftr.'s website instead. You will create a bootable CD with the file you download. I haven't examined Win7's burning capability yet so don't know if it can burn an .iso. If not, you'll need third-party software to burn as an image, not as data. Boot with the CD you made and do a thorough test of the drive. If it fails any physical tests, you should replace it.If the diagnostic utility doesn't show any errors, then try a new clean install of Win7 and see if you still get the notification.
