We have the following problem with IE8 and Win 7 GPO "Network access: Do not allow storage of passwords and credentials for network authentication” is set to "Enabled". As well the Reg Value "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\DisablePasswordCaching" is set to "1". If I connect to a site which requires authentication the Windows Security MessageBox pops up with checkbox "Remember my credentials". This option has no function the credentials will not be saved, however the option is still visible. The combination of both settings is working well with Vista and IE8... Any hints?
