INTERNET CONNECTION PROBLEM AFTER COMPUTER HYBERNATES
I am using Microsoft Windows XP Home and Internet Explorer 8. We have just installed a new Wireless Modem. Now, every time the computer goes in to hybernation, when you click out of it, neither Microsoft Outlook or Internet Explorer work. There appears to be no connection - there is an option to diagnose the error (in Internet Explorer) and it generally refers to Winsock errors. It looks like it fixes it, then if you restart the computer, both Outlook and Internet Explorer work again. But when the computer hybernates, I get the same problem again. As for troubleshooting, not only have I diagnosed the problem in internet explorer (and apparantly fixed the error), but I have also reset winsock catalog a couple of times, as well as using Microsoft Fix It. I have also, within Device Manager, uninstalled and re-installed Network Adapters. Any advice, as it is driving me insane!!1 person needs an answerI do too

This may be due to your computer not recognized by wireless modem, which now has a new IP address. Because you do not have a static IP address (since you have DHCP active), this can be solved by assigning static IP. If you have home network, then computer A could have IP address 10.0.0.1,...and so on.Your router will then know that 10.0.0.1 is trying to connect and not 10.0.0.190. To test this, plug you computer to static IP mode. It should then recognize the IP address, MAC etc... One way to bypass this problem is by refreshing IP address each time you initiate wireless modem connection: From command line (START > RUN > cmd.exeor command.exe)ipconfig /flushdnsipconfig /renew This may take minute or so to put new IP address in the TCPIP stack.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------You can also make computer faster by disabling IPv6 and other devices in networking:To do so, boot in SAFE MODE. Then,MyComputer > right-click PROPERTIES > DEVICE MANAGER > NETWORKING > VIEW | View HiddenKeep only (i) WAN miniport IP (ii) WAN miniport IP Monitor (iii) Networking ControllerDISABLE or UNINSTALL other drivers.SHUTDOWN (not Restart).REBOOT.Check if you drivers are showing down arrow (indicating disabled). Hi thereI tried what you suggested, and I keep getting the same issues. When I diagnose the problem in internet explorer it always refers to errors with the winsock catalog. Any further ideas?
