I tried to run the troubleshooting utility but it didn't come up with anything. I'm not sure where to start looking to find out why this computer is not getting IPV6 connectivity. I would appreciate some suggestions on where to look. One possible clue is that if I run the Microsoft Internet Connectivity Tool, it reports a failure for UPnP.

who is your ISP? if you are a Comcast customer (these will only work on the Comcast network) the list you want is at http://dns.comcast.net/dns-ip-addresses3.php depending... you might be able to use 2001:470:20::2 which is HE's anycast DNS server if you manually configure? which router? Thanks for the replies. I think it must not be clear what I'm trying to do so I'll try to explain it again. I have several PCs, all are running Windows 7 64 bit, some home premium, some pro. My Netgear WNDR3700 router supports IPV6 since the most recent firmware release. (It is set to use 6to4 and it has both WAN and LAN IPV6 addresses.) On all of the PCs except one, I am getting IPV6 connectivity. The only problem being reported by test-ipv6.com is that my ISP's DNS server does not support IPV6. However, on one of the PCs, I am not getting any IPV6 connectivity as reported by the Windows network connection status and also by test-ipv6.com. That PC also fails the UPnP portion of the Microsoft Internet Connectivity Test. I am trying to determine why these problems are happening on only one PC. Maybe it's one problem causing both issues. I realize IPV6 is not widely used at this point. I am not trying to debate that. All I'm trying to do is figure out what is different / wrong about one of my PCs. I hope that helps to explain what I'm looking for.

I know the ISP has not fully implemented IPV6. That is not stopping my other PCs from getting IPV6 connectivity and surely it has nothing to do with why my PC is failing the UPnp test. There is a problem with one of my PCs and I an trying to find out what it is. Please don't bother to reply if all you have to say is the same thing over and over.

Thanks for the reply. My ISP is telus, which does not yet support IPV6, but it's working on my other PCs using 6to4. My router seems to be working fine. I am wondering if the problem is related to UPnP. I just noticed that the router shows up on the network tab of the PC where IPV6 is working, but not on the other PC.

My own box is an old Linksys WRT54G and the OEM firmware was defective for universal plug and play. I suspect other boxes may also have issues. I use 3rd party firmware on my WRT54G and the problems have all disappeared. I suggest looking up Teredo tunneling which is IP6 over IP4 I still suggest using NAT and IP4 for best results. As for the one machine that is at issue, is that machine identical to the others or is it different? You may have a problem with the setup and you may need to delete the NIC and reinstall it from a reboot to make sure the protocol stack is setup right. Thanks for your help. The computer with the problem is a laptop. It has a gigabit LAN and a wireless-n network interfaces. The problem is the same whether the connection is wired or wireless.
