So originally, I had decided I was going to retrieve my DNS numbers using the IPconfig in the command prompt because I needed to forward my ports so I could host a server on this one online video game. When I went to forward my ports I had accidentally screwed with one of my router settings, and I had to reset my router. I am using a Toshiba Satellite C655 and I am on a wireless connection. I think this might be a router problem because when I was trying to forward my ports (im a newb at it) I accidentally changed my router setting so that it would recognize only my default gateway number as DNS numbers. I then had no internet and had to reset my router. Now I am getting these errors mentioned above. Help :0

Those aren't errors. Ok, but I still am not sure what my dns numbers are, and what do those other messages mean about media disconnected? I didn't have those before. So what is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?

Media disconnect should have been there before unless you disable IPv6 if not that is there be default in your OS. Media disconnected has always been there for the interface that is connected like your wired network connection Are you running a domain? If you are running a domain then your DNS settings should be your Domain Controllers. If you are not running a domain then you need your ISP DNS servers to put into your DHCP server. Or you can use 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.1

Well the media disconnect was not there before and I don't think it is default because of that since it has never appeared until now. I am not running a domain either.

Again the media disconnect has always been there this is a default on all OS if your local area connection is not plugged you will see the media disconnected. Now with the IPv6 components by default in Windows Vista and above these are enabled.

Ok, that makes more sense. But I am still not understanding how to get my DNS numbers. Before I could just use ipconfig or look at my network settings and I would get 2 numbers starting with 24 or something like that. That does not occur anymore.

You need to do an ipconfig /all If the above command doesn't give you the DNS servers you need to configure them in the router's DHCP.

Ahh, now we're getting somewhere. So for alot of these adapters it reads DHCP is not enabled. I went into my settings and found 3 numbers for the Domain Name Server that are all very similar. I take it these are those numbers I couldn't get with the ipconfig?
