I am able to access my printer, C drives on all computers and a 6GB external drive without issues. Why can't I open my 18 and 500GB external drives but I can see them?
I have 3 laptops all running Windows XP. Recently, all of a sudden I have been unable to access the shared external 500GB and 18GB drives connected to alaptop in my office. In spirit of full exclosure it is connected via a universal dock station to; Epson MP830 printer; external monitor; MS wireless mouse; MS natural keyboard; 500GB ext drive. I have a 4 port hub which is connected to a dual USB 2 PCMIA card (because the laptop only has usb 1.0)that in turn connects to; a pc camera, 18GB external drive, and external CDRW/DVD. Since putting a new drive 50GB drive on my laptop I am unable to access the external 18 and 50GB drives connected via usb from either of my other 2 laptops through my2Wire residential gateway via ATT UVERSE ISP service. I have tried the solution given on this forum in another thread(disabling simple sharing) but it does not work. I have even tried increasing the IRPStackSize. What could possibly have gone wrong so suddenly?I am not running a Domain network. All 3 laptops are connected wirelessly as a Workgroup. It does not make sense that theproblem would have anything to do with enabling or disabling simple sharing.Best Regards,
