I am getting error when i try to save any files or folders to any of the computer drives though i am the administrator of the system
I am getting the following error when i am trying to save any files or folder within my system in any of the folders like C,D,G etc "You don't have permission to save in this location Contact the Administrator to obtain permission , Would you like to save in My Documents folder Instead". Add to this i have done partition of my C drive using partition tool as it is brand new PC. I am the administrator of the PC still it is asking for Contact admin. I saw some notes here to format the disk is there any other ways

What folder are you trying to save what into? UAC doesn't think you should be doing that. As George is implying, UAC causes you to run programs - including Explorer - as a lowly non-privileged user, NOT as a member of the Administrators group. That's just one of its functions; it is trying to protect the computer from you. Frankly I think it's kind of a silly feature, at least for experienced power users (which is why it can be turned off), but I suppose it does reduce the risk of malware infections for many Windows users who really don't understand that it's a bad idea to just run anything they come across on the web. Keep in mind that with UAC on you can run Explorer (or your applications) "As Administrator", which will invoke a UAC prompt, then allow you to access files and folders will all your administrative privileges. Just be really sure you know what you're doing. -Noel
