Hi, I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit with 16-GB of Ram. Most of my applications are 32-bit applications. How much RAM can Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise dedicate to 32-bit application? I have observed that 32bit application are able to access only 1.75GB of RAM in my machine and post that it gives out of memory exception. Is there a way to increase the RAM limit for 32bit applications?

32 bit processes are limited to 2gb ram (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa366778(v=vs.85).aspx for details). the advantage of your 16gb and the 64 bit system is that each of your 32 bit processes can have 2gb. if the applications you use are build by you/your company, you can either compile as 64bit app or use the methods described in the article above to push ram limits on 32 bit systems
