For the past two days I have not been able to sign onto the internet> I have tried using my internet explorer 7 Mozilla Firefox 3.6 and Google chrome neither of them will allow me to sign on. I have a gateway computer. I have called Comcast and they say all is fine on their end. i called Microsoft and they directed me to their website which I couldn't get onto so I had to go to a friends house. My computer runs really slow and gets stuck when I bring up the start menu.

I have called Comcast and they say all is fine on their end.If they are your ISP they should be helping you ensure that you have a good Internet connection. What did they ask you to test? E.g. are you at least getting an IP address from them? You can use ipconfig /allin a cmd window to check. Alternatively, use the Network Connections Network Diagnostics tool to find out what it thinks. Also entered via a command line, e.g. Run... netsh diag gui You may find more informed help for checking your connectivity from an XP forum which specializes in Networking. HTHRobert Aldwinckle---
