have numerous issues with the software. first off when viewing folders with 2 or more rows of folders if you click any folder in the right colum , instead of opening it. it forces the file to the left so on the double click you are clicking a totally dift file and so it continues.don't you windows people ever quality control your junk?and in IE8 you cant move the favorites bar to be next to the menu bar on top, like any other version of IE.and I dont need to get into the classic start menu. cause the idiots that designed it are drunk and high as usual

It's all a question of your settings. Probably - no offense - it's a PBKAC issue.Mobile AMD64 3000+, VIA Apollo K8T800 chipset, 1 G RAM, ATIRadeonMobility 9700, 20x DVDRW, C:XPSP3 (55G),D:WIN7 (25G),F:DATA (250G)

What version/build are you using? I'm using the RTM Ultimate and cannot reproduce the error without this specific information. So to clarify, we need...1, current view settings2, Version/Build of windows 7ThanksJeff If anyone is helpful, please click the 'Vote as helpful' icon. I've been trying to recreate what you've stated about Explorer & just can't. I have an external drive with a movie folder with multiple movies, when I double-click a folder, it opens.I must be missing something :oIf anyone is helpful, please click the 'Vote as helpful' icon. Talk about an attitude! Post person # 1 has it. Personally, I'm very grateful for Microsoft releasing an RC copy. Mine has been no problem. But, even if I'd had problems, I don't expect trouble-free operation from a pre-release piece of software. I think Microsoft has done this version right. By the way, this version has interested me enough so that I bought two copies. When Vista came I started using Linux.

The problem is that by default you have 20 folders in a row, if you have more than 2 columns (or the second column has folders that are partially off screen) and click a folder that's partially showing to the far right 1 click will bring it in line with the left hand pane. This could indeed be annoying for others but I don't use list view so it's of no great importance to me.If anyone from MSFT could clarify if this is the correct behaviour then that would be helpful....Jeff If anyone is helpful, please click the 'Vote as helpful' icon. the thing is no other version of windows does that and from what I heard only the rtm+ versions do itand it does not have to be a partially seen folder you can have it happen with 2 rows of clearly seen files

For the first concern, it is caused that when we select List View, system will try to show the whole row when we choose the last row. Thus if there is a long file name in the row, this row will move to left (actually it is the slid-bar moved to right for one row) to show the whole row. Here is a screenshot. When we move the right side of the window over the line in red, when we click the last row, it will moved to left. The blank area beside the red line is considered belong to left row.

Yes, Shaon, I know this is a new concept of the list view. The only problem is this concept is TERRIBLE. I did this screenshot http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/5135/explorerexample.jpg to show what I mean. Explorer keep changing rows and moving things away from my mouse. It is just plain stupid. How can I disable this? Oh! For sure there is no way. I knew it too. Because explorer is just a bad joke now. Users can´t customize it, nor disable unwanted "features".

I have never had an issue with 98/me/2000/xp/vistathey worked like they were suppose to. you double click a file it opens. it doesn't jump the file around

Also, why is it that when i try and select different files , it doesn't select by rows but by files. if i want to select all the files in a list i have to try and use my mouse to select all files.it selcts by name not by file. so if i have files that are 10 letters and som with 5. if i try and select them all I have to go all the way to the left to get a file whereas any other version of windows you just move the cursor up and it selects all the files its not based on character length
