I lose Internet Connection Sharing if I restart the host PC.
Hello everyone Internet Connection Sharing must be the buggiest part of Windows XP I have used so far. Basically, I have two PCs networked together using a switch and two ethernet cables. The one PC in the network is sharing it's internet connection (a 150Kbps USB modem) with the other. The shared connection works perfectly fine until I restart the PC hosting the shared connection. If I do that, I can't connect to the internet using the other PC and if I open the internet connection's properties on the host PC, the sharing options are disabled. To fix this problem, I need to run the "Set up a home or small office network" wizard on the host PC again. Is there an esier way to do this or something I can download to fix this problem? Is this issue I just mentioned even normal? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Kind regards P.S. I also installed the KB951830 hotfix on both PCs. This hotfix is to keep the shared connection working if the network cable on the host PC becomes disconnected. It didn't do anything to help my current issue though. I also have SP3 and (most?) of the updates from Windows Update installed.1 person needs an answerI do too
