I need assistance in creating a LAN Connection in my network connections.
I recently performed a clean install of XP Pro and I am unable to connect to the Internet. In my Network Connections, I have only the 1394 Connection, but no LAN Connection.I've also included five problem devices identified by device manager that appear to be troublesome because no drivers seem to be loaded.Problem Devices in Device Manager:1.Ethernet Controller PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1050&SUBSYS_815C104D&REV_024&2E98101C&0&40F0The drivers for this device are not installed .2.Multimedia Audio Controlle r PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24D5&SUBSYS_815B104D&REV_023&267A616A&0&FDThe drivers for this device are not installed .3.Network Controller PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_0201&SUBSYS_00321737&REV_014&2E98101C&0&50F0The drivers for this device are not installed .4.PCI Modem PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24D6&SUBSYS_8128104D&REV_023&267A616A&0&FEThe drivers for this device are not installed .5.Serial ROOT\LEGACY_SERIAL\0000This device is disabled.I have a Sony VAIO Modem Lite-On model CNR-002(#)/A18 and am trying to pick up a signal from my AirLink wireless Lan and Port Broadband router just a few feet measly feet away.I've already wasted most of the day diddling with about a half dozen driver search utilities that are imposed upon me be those sites with Driver databases. I've managed to make no progress whatsoever other than to download several useless versions of .Net Framework software programs (required by these sadistic driver update search programs! My hardware should not be an issue as the system was functional with respect to accessing to the Internet only several days ago.Can anybody offer any suggestions that might help me to resolve this enigma?RangerDude1 person needs an answerI do too

There are no LAN or wireless connections because drivers aren't installed for the Ethernet Controller and Network Controller. If your computer came with a driver installation disk, use it to install the drivers. If it didn't, use another computer to go to your computer manufacturer's web site and download the required Windows XP drivers for your computer model. Then transfer them to your computer and install them.Boulder Computer MavenMicrosoft Most Valuable Professional
