I need help with dns and kms
Recently i had windows vista, but it kept crashing so i decided i wanted windows 7.Now i am a pensioner with no previous knowledge of computers, but i needed to keep in touch with my daughter in America. A friend who is a business man said he had bought windows 7 enterprise for his computer, and he would put it on mine. But now it tells me that this windows is not a genuine window because KMS cannot detect DNS, microsoft says maybe my files have been damaged, i've tried WAS among other things. I read somewhere that i can buy a product key to make it genuine, is this so or do i have to buy the whole package of windows7?

Hello, Although I personally prefer Windows 7, Vista should not crash. If it does, you may have a hardware problem, configuration problem or corrupted files. If your computer has a recovery disk or a recovery boot, I would suggest you do the recovery. This will get the computer back to its original state. If you are not familiar with computer installation basics, I would suggest you take it to a repair shop or seek the help of someone who is familiar with Windows installations. Hello joyednasalter, Windows 7 Enterprise is only available in Volume license editions, it is not available as a Retail sku. So the error message is from Windows looking a corporate activation server. It is querying the DNS server for the DNS record that points to the KMS host machine that will activate it.Thanks, Darrell Gorter This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
