I really need HELP!! I received the nugel.exe virus on my laptop. I have Windows XP and I was reading how to remove it. I was told to go to the Start button click in it then click on Run; type msconfig and the in the Startup tab unclick anything that ends in TSSD. Well, nothing that ended in TSSD was there, so I was told to unclick anything that had an UNKNOWN manufacturer in SERVICES and STARTUP buttons. I restarted my computer and the NUGEL was still there. Then, suddenly my computer shut down on its own and restarted with a screen that now says "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <Windows root>\system32\hal.dll. Please re-install a copy of the above file." Does ANYONE know how to do this?? I feel like I have been dealing with the stupid virus for days and I am getting crazy!! Can someone please help me fix what I did wrong? PLEASE!!!1 person needs an answerI do too
