Well it's very easy to get side tracked when thinking of the mess BP has made. In fact, I will get a little side tracked myself here. BP is out for gain. They are not an American company and therefore have no interest in our environment. However, I would expect our very own Govt. to have a great interest in it but, apparrently they didn't. Otherwise, unfettered access to offshore drilling without the prerequisite of permits would have never been granted. Moreover, the current administration should take control of the situation, fix the issue then send the bill to BP instead of allowing BP to attempt to save money with their crock pot methods. With all that said, let's address your computer issue. First, tell me what the "new hardware" is. It may be something you need. Also, if you have your windows disc, back up all your personal data and wipe it clean with a clean install. If you do not have your disc you will have to go through line by line removing aftermarket software until you are back to factory installation.Regards,JoelFree computer support and diagnostics -->> http://repairbotsonline.forumotion.com/

Thanks J! Well said! I've spent too much time on here this am and I learned alot! It says a broadcom 440x 10/100 integrated controller, I think my BF might have thought we needed it at one time to get online or WIFI, or would it have to do with the hp printer I added awhie ago? I'm not certain about having the CD, been REALLY cloudy here in the NW, sun is burning thru today, YIPEE! I'm going outside to soak up the vitamin D and will deal with this later, It play's my pandora music and I need to mow the yard! Thanks and will check back later! M

Hello M. The hardware you reference is a driver for the Ethernet controller. Apparently you do not need this device otherwise you would not be able to connect to the internet. It may have been as you said, related to a wireless card or adapter.Regards,JoelFree computer support and diagnostics -->> http://repairbotsonline.forumotion.com/
