Iinternet Explorer 8 search cannot display webpage
Season's Greetings! Here is one that even Microsoft cannot fix....yet. In Windows 7 when I search I receive a listing of what I querried. However, when I click on a link I receive "Internet explorer cannot display webpage" and a box asks: Diagnose Connection Problems. I click the box and it goes through some diagnostics and eventually returns "explore additional options" beacuse it could not fix the issue. I select this and while it is working the search page comes up. This happens for every search. Microsoft has reinstalled IE8, we've reset the security settings, turned off Spyware Doctor & Anti-Virus, ran Microsoft's Malware & Virus programs all to no avail. This issue is driving my family and me crazy. Any suggesations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Nick

Hi Nick,When did this issue first occur? Right after installing windows 7?Have you tried launch IE 8 with no add-ons mode? What else did you do?You can test it in a new account in case that your user account profile contains corrupt components.Create a new user account============1. Click the Start Button, and then click Control Panel. 2. Click switch to a Classic View in left panel. 3. Double-click User Accounts.4. Click Manage another account.Note: Please click Continue if the User Account Control (UAC) window prompts. 5. Click "Create a new account".6. Type in the account name and select choose an account type (For Example: Administrator or Standard user). Then, click Create Account. What is the result in the new account?

Hi,I suggest test the issue in safe mode with networking. I know the troubleshooting is time consuming, but sometimes it is better to find the root cause in case the issue persists even after a clean install. Restart the computer and start pressing the F8 key on the keyboard. On a computer that is configured to boot multiple Operating Systems, press the F8 key when you see the boot menu. When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe Mode with networking, and then press Enter. Log onto Windows by using the Administrator account or any user account with Administrator privileges.
