In win 8.1 will a system image backup also backup my Hyper-v images?
Anyone know if in win 8.1 will a system image backup also backup my Hyper-v (client) images?

Hi jpro1000,

By default, System Image Backup (File History) only backs up copies of files that are in the Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, and Desktop folders and the OneDrive files available offline on your PC. If you have files or folders elsewhere that you want backed up, you can add them to one of these folders.

I think it backs up the whole drive as an image. Just wondering if my VMs will be properly backed up this way. I assume they would be... I just can't restore to test...

Hello,

Fire History can only backup the personal files. The System Image Backup can backup the entire hard drive. Please see the above snapshot.

Since the vdi images are stored on the local hard drive, they can be backup with "System Image Backup".
