Inbox emptied out. Why?
For some reason the messages in my Inbox disappeared? I don't think I did anything. They are not in any other folder. An email later came through and showed properly in the Inbox. I have "Show All Messages" checked - and nothing else. How can I find/recover the messages that were in my Inbox?1 person needs an answerI do too

Has nothing to do with XP Networking. I thought I had drilled down to the place where I could ask a question about OE 6. Am I in the wrong place?

You are in the correct place. It was rather stupid of MS to put OE in this NG, but since they dumped it anyway, they don't care. Its possible your inbox.dbx file got corrupted and OE made a new one. See if there is anything similar to an inbox.dbx (inbox (1).dbx, etc.) and you may be able to extract the messages from that. See alsowww.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4 If there is no dbx file similar, then check the Recycle bin for an inbox.bak file that you can restore (see point 2 on the page above). If there is no bak file then your only shot is the extract from disk feature of my DBXpress program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) which will scan the entire drive for messages and if they are still on the disk clusters somewhere, it will recover them. In the future, its important to backup your messages frequently (seewww.oehelp.com/OEBackup/) as this type of loss happens daily to people. steve <LarryRVSR> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...Has nothing to do with XP Networking.
