Installing IE8 on Windows 7 SP1
I have a Dell Latitude E6320 that came preloaded with Windows 7 Pro SP1 (32 bit) and
Internet Explorer 9. Our company is not yet supporting IE9 so I need to rollback to IE8.
I went to Control Panel > Programs and Features, Internet Explorer 9 was not listed as a program
that can be uninstalled. So I went to Turn Windows features on or off and unchecked Internet Explorer 9 then rebooted.
When I attempted to install a Windows XP copy of IE8 that I have, I got an error stating that this
browser is incompatible with the current operating system. After not being able to find a version of IE8 for Windows 7, I downloaded a copy of IE8 for Windows Vista 32 bit. Unfortunately, this too is considered to be incompatible.
Is there a version of IE8 that can be downloaded and installed on a Windows 7 SP1 PC?
Any efforts spent to help me resolve this issue is greatly appreciated.

Under add remove programs do you see it listed under "View installed updates" it will be listed there and not as a program
You should then be able to uninstall it.
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

Hi Jason,
I have the same problem. IE9 is only listed Program Features, not in the Installed Updates or under the Installed Programs.
Also SP1 for Windows 7 is not listed anywhere.
Looks like MS is going to force people to buy older versions of Windows 7 without SP1 in order to get IE8 on Windows 7. :(
Any other suggestions?
