Internet Dropping in and out
Has anyone noticed their net connection dropping in and out on 7?? One miniute its fine, the next its gone, then as if by magic, it works again! Network and Sharing Centre says that either it can only see the local area network in my house, or it says its connected to the net fine, but no pages or email will work.

Hi,I have no problems with my internect connection at all. Did this problem started when you installed Windows 7 Beta? Have you checked that you have installed the latest drivers for your network adapter? Normally you can safely install the driver for Windows Vista.Peter Forster, MVP Virtual Machine, Austria

I have both the 32bit and 64bit installed and multi-boot (I also have Vista HB). I am finding my wireless adapter on the 64bit version starts up but after some time it just gets 'disabled' but the network wizards aren't able to either detect that and are unable to fix it. it offers to run the wizard as Admin but doesn't make any difference. Manually enabling it doesn't always work either and when I click to restart, the system just hangs so I have to manually power-off. This hasn't happened with the 32bit which I have used more than the 64it for this reason. The 64 bit also seems slower and the assessment rating is lower too. No what I was expecting. Old Guy

its just done it now in Vista aswell!I thought it was to do with 7 coz its beta, but it might be my network setup. I have a Netgear DG834G router setup as a switch, and then its connected to a powerline adapter which links to the router in the front room. in vista it says the internet is connected on the network centre, but it doesnt work! it must be something daft like a setting as it can see the network fine.

I was experiencing the same issues. I have a motherboard with an Nvidia chipset. The upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 installed Microsoft's (old) Nvidia nic driver. I downloaded the newest drivers from the Nvidia site and my problems went away. I've had no networking problems since (about 3 days now).
