Internet Explorer Ads

Hello there,

I am having problems with Internet Explorer opening itself to a gambling or bingo website, even when it is not even opening. Basically, I could be at the desktop, waiting for something to download with nothing else open and it will just pop open and load a webpage that contains Gambling or Bingo references (Which I don't really care about, but it is just plain annoying now), it has done this for about the last 11 months or so, does anyone know how to stop this from happening?

Kindest

Download, install update and run a complete scan with Malwarebytes (free version).

Malwarebytes.

Note:

decline, the "free trial" offer, just prior to launching Malwarebytes, if you are inclined to do so, but remember, accepting the offer, lauches the program in full mode and that includes real-time monitoring that may cause a conflict, if you already have another AV Product installed.

Remove any and all found objects (if any), reboot and repeat, until there are no further detections.

Next,

Download and run ADWCleaner.

ADWCleaner.

Let us know the results of the scans, and we'll take it from there.

Hi Cersei,

These problems are normally caused by Malicious plug-ins installed on your computer.

Remove Suspect adds-on from Internet Explorer

Remove Spyware or Malicious plug-ins and perform virus scan by using Anti-Spyware and Antivirus.

How to prevent spyware

Whenever you install something on your computer, make sure you carefully read all disclosures, including the license agreement and privacy statement. Sometimes the inclusion of unwanted software in a given software installation is documented, but it might appear at the end of a license agreement or privacy statement.
