Internet Issues
I am having trouble connecting to the internet. We have a new desk top with Windows 7. We purchased a dial-up modem and the actual internet connects and opens Yahoo or Googel but anything past this will not open. I diganose the problem and it gives the follwing issues: The DNS is not reachable. The DNS does not have alisting for the website's domain. What is this and are there specific settings to set to get it to connect

Hi, Click Start, Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt. In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands: Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log If it does not help, disable your security software to test.
