Internet Proxy Problem
Hi,
This is a very strange problem I have two Windows 7 computers side by side on the same internet connection with the same Proxy settings in IE8. One has been installed from the Windows 7 DVD, the other is using a very basic cloned image.
On both is an application that accesses the internet, on the one installed from the DVD no problem, but on the one that's been cloned the program complains that it cannot access the interent, although the web appears to work fine on both machines. I've even
tried putting our proxy details directly into the program but it still complains.
Could it be a corrupt file, I remember in the old day there used to be a socks.dll that could sometimes go a bit iffy.
I'd really appricate your help on this one.
Many thanks, MattMatt Courtman, Network Manager, Cromwell Community College, UK

Also try to see at which port the application is trying to connect and make a rule in windows firewal. Also check if the windows network loations are the same on both machines.
That can cause some trouble as well.
Try running sysprep and regenerate the SID. This process will require the windows serial key to be applied again.
