Internet connectivity issues after Windows 7 64 bit upgrade
I have 23 Dell Precision 490 workstations that I recently upgraded from Vista 32x to Windows 7 64x. We access the internet via 2 T1's. Over the past few months we have begun to experience a serious amount of internet connectivity problems. When no one is logged onto their PC's early in the morning, the connection is fine, however, as more log on the worst it gets. We have no other network issues (read or write errors to any of the servers) and I have had our telecom techs to check their equipment...no equipment issues with their routers. I have replaced our switches, and all PC's use gigabit nics. I have installed fresh nic drivers from manufacturer as well. I have even disabled the Exchange Services & antivirus software services on our sever...no resolution. On a side note...we didn't have this issue prior to the upgrade. No new applications have been added (except MS Office 2010 upgrade), nor new internet based tasks. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Would you please let me know if the computer is in domain? Go to check the switch settings and update the switch firmware. If the issue persists, you can disable rss, autotuninglevel and taskofload to check the result. Please open an elevated command prompt windows and type the following commands one by one. netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled netsh int ip set global taskoffload=disabled Best Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. No domain, workgroup...using server (Windows 2003) simply as a file repository. Only apps being used for any type of distribution is McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator. I have spent several days with a McAfee tech doing remote access to inspect their setup. No problems detected, however, I went ahead and disabled services to be sure. Switches' firmware have been updated a month ago & refreshed caches. Both are new Dells running in unmanaged mode to further reduce any switch issues.

Hi, Please let me know if you have run the commands which I provided? If the issue persists, try the Clean Boot to check the result. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 If any error is received, you could capture the screenshot. How to capture a screenshot -------------------------------- 1. When the error message occurs, press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2. Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3. In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4. Save the picture onto your desktop and Upload to SkyDrive. I have run the commands...which I assumed needed to be ran on a client on the network??? I have also tried the Clean Boot with no error messages. Still no resolution. I have also unmapped all PC's from main server & shut it down during work hours. For most, connectivity increased significantly but not where I would say the bandwidth should be. However, some PC's lost internet connection altogether. Could there be something on the server dealing with a DNS lookup now with W7?

Hi, Yes, the command should be run on a client. If you would like to check DNS lookup from Server side, I suggest contacting server forum to get accurate suggestions.
