Internet keeps cutting out...
I just purchased Windows 7 Ultimate today and installed it over Vista Home Premium 64 bit. The installation seemed to work okay, except for the fact that the internet service started cutting out every few minutes. Now it almost always reconnects itself automaticaly after a few moments, but this is incredibly annoying since I do play games online and I don't want to keep logging back in every time the internet cuts out. I called up my ISP, but they were of little help to me since they aren't used to Windows 7 customers yet. I power cycled, I /released and /renewed, but nothing seems to be working. Any other suggestions?

Hi srajdb, Could you please describe the network environment to us? Is the computer connected to the router, wirelessly, or with cable? Does the issue occur in other computers in the network? If the issue occurs after installing certain software, update or changing some hardware, please try System Restore to restore the system to the point before the issue first occurred. If there is no restore point available, please also try the following suggestions: Bypass the router (if there is) and connect to DSL directly via wired cable. Install the latest network adapter driver for Windows 7 to check the result. Access Safe Mode with Networking to see if the issue occurs. (Restart computer, press the F8 key when the boot menu pops up, select [Safe Mode with Networking], and boot up) Disable Windows 7 and router's firewall if it is available. Regards, Linda
