I added an HP printer to my Win 7 system, successfully printed a test page and then made the new printer the default printer. At that point it disappeared from the "devices and printer" screen. If I try to add it again, the system tries to create a second copy so I canceled that step and went into the browser and sure enough, the printer shows in the available printer list and works. Just not visible in the "devices and printer" screen. So I can print but I can not manage the printer.
