Is Microsoft a trustworthy software maker?
Does a Windows 7 Upgrade licence permit me to apply the upgrade on more than one Windows PC? I'm not asking whether I can purchase one Windows 7 Upgrade licence and apply the upgrade in a way so that I'll have multiple PCs running Windows all licenced through the same product key. What I would like to know is that whether I can apply the upgrade at different times and only sequentially and on different PCs. Or is the upgrade licence much like your OEM licence where if you install an OEM edition of Windows, the OEM licence is set in stone and its nontransferable from that one PC that is supposedly distinct from every other PC on the planet? Is there a webpage on www.microsoft.com where there's a technical feature comparison of Windows 7 editions? This page on your website does not give me enough information: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/compare/default.aspx How does Microsoft justify your policy permitting your customers in activating Windows over the phone? With activation over the phone, your customer interacts with someone at Microsoft that verbally delivers what the customer has to type into the activation applet, and this is simply not as secure as online activation since there's theoretically no middle person involved in online activation. If your phone activation system is fully automated, it would not require that your customer deal with a human at Microsoft, and its possibly one way I've been robbed as I've always had to deal with a human at Microsoft while activating Microsoft products over the phone. And moreover, The Internet, PSTN, cell networks and even postal mail simply do not work. Are .NET Framework SDK and Windows SDK free downloads? If they are, then why are they included with editions of Visual Studio that have to be paid for? I'm not sure about all contents in Windows SDK, but all of .NET Framework SDK is included with all editions of Visual Studio. What this implies is that someone's getting ripped off and my credibility will be leveraged by criminals if I use these free downloads. Microsoft must authenticate Windows client PCs for running a genuine copy of Windows through Windows Genuine Advantage when these tools are freely downloaded and in addition to that your customer must be authenticated through Windows Live ID. And perhaps your customer must be authenticated biometrically to The Internet, but that will take a lot more work. And Microsoft must distribute .NET Framework SDK and Windows SDK as part of Windows installation bits. When I posted on some MSDN forum that I don't trust free downloads from Microsoft, someone there responded saying I would be missing a lot. Its my bet that the only thing I would be missing not downloading free software from Microsoft would be "free" ____ with a lot of women in exchange for real money I make using Microsoft software and other technologies. I prefer money over women, and therefore I won't be having ____ nor will I trust free downloads from Microsoft. I've been robbed with the expectation that I'll have ____, so I won't be having ____. Microsoft must build an edition of Visual Studio that has the same features as Team Suite, but meant for single and not available individuals. This new edition of Visual Studio would retain the breadth of functionality as Team Suite, such as TFS, develop/debug, test, QA, workflow, etc. although it would be a lot cheaper than fifteen grand. I don't plan to manage any development teams. In its next iteration following this 2010 release, Microsoft must modularize Visual Studio the same way Windows Server is modularized for specific Server Role instances.

This is not possible and was never possible. You can buy the Family Pack to get 3 HP upgrade licenses. The Windows SDK is free, for the VS questions, ask in the MSDN forums for a place where you can submit Feedback."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Hello, When you interact with a human, you are not actually giving them the license key, you are giving them a generated ID, not the install key code. Your biggest risk comes from people who pass by and look on the side of your computer or under the laptop and will write down the code. About the trustworthiness of MS itself, some instututions do not use manufacturer supplied images or even recovery CD images of the OS, rather they create their own image using a MS supplied install disk for simplicity and security. About the money and the women, what is your point exactly? If you really are that worried then identify whatever it is you are trying to protect and take appropriate counter-measures. Intruders can be discovered and blocked with readily available tools and some knowledge. Even simple packet filtering firewalls and network sniffers will go along way to clue you in to any transgressions. Besides, the people who can spy undiscovered, are not interested in you, your product key or your _ _ _ what ever that may be. So relax and don't worry so much.
