Is the RTM that is released to Technet subscribers next week the same version that will be released to public on Oct 22?
Hi folks. I am a new Technet subscriber and I was wondering if the RTM that is released next week to Technet subscribers is the same thing that will be released to public on Oct 22? I don't want ot install it and have to reinstall again in October. Thanks.

There has been no info when technet is going to get it yet. Next week is going to be when it is decided what rev is going to go gold and be released to hardware manufatures but nothing has been said when paid technet subscribers will have access to it. When it goes to technet yes it should be same build number.Tim Comes

Hi There has been no official announcement about another build ofWindows 7 being released next week? All of the articles that are appearing is just speculation, at this point. When the RTM build is released, it will be the same version that will be available on October 22, 2009. There will likely be some updates between the RTM release and General Availability in October, and these will still be available as updates after the GA date.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP
