Issues with connecting Vista to Home Network
I'm trying to set up a home file sharing network. I've gotten my XP desktop machine onto the network, and the Vista laptop can see and access the files there, but the laptop won't register on the desktop's end. I've worked around this by making a shortcut to the desktop's documents folder on the laptop, but this is cumbersome. Is there a way that I can make the laptop visible and accessible on the Desktop machine?

Hi, You have to enable Network Discovery, File Sharing and disable Password Protected Sharing. Check this article explanation: http://www.vista4beginners.com/Enable-network-discovery-file-sharing
