I had a difficulty getting my machine to connect. The problem was that I had 2 DHCP servers (a router and pxe). Even after removing the PXE server(eventually disconnect cat 5), the 7 machine had difficulty seeing 192.168.0.1. It seemed to have cachedthe pxe server IP 192.168.0.4. It also seemed to keep the pxe servers assigned IPaddress on reboot.The XP machine had no problem finding the real router when it was cycled.I tried repairing(troubleshoot) and ipconfig /renewbut it didn't help, but after multiple reboots and physicallyremoving the other machine from the netit finally worked.
