Issues with sleep/wake up
We have some machines running Windows 7 Enterprise that are going into some sort of low power sleep/standby and are sporadically will not wake back up. Hibernate is disabled. We have configured several settings via Group Policy to keep devices from going into low power mode. I have checked the BIOS, the option to allow low power standby is not checked. When the devices go to sleep/coma, the only way to wake them is to do a hard boot. You can see that the computer/tower is still on. The monitor is blank with an amber light on the power button. I have already tried updating the network card driver, chipset driver and video card driver to no avail. I have unchecked the option on the network card to turn the device off to save power. I have been unable to turn this option off on the USB root hub as there is no way to disable the usb selective suspend setting via group policy. Since we have other power settings deployed via group policy, the local machines will not allow me to set it to disable. I'm at my wits end as are my end users who keep having this happen.

Hi, As my understanding, Windows 7 cannot wake up from the sleep mode, right? You could try to update the BIOS to the latest version to see how it works. Also, this mostly caused by the incorrect settings in Power Options, I suggest you perform the steps which mentioned in the following link: About how to troubleshoot power plans in Windows 7 Alex ZhaoPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Correct, Windows 7 will not wake up from sleep. But this sleep is so deep that it's acting like hibernation but hibernation is disabled on the machines. BIOS is the correct version. We have a smattering of machines getting the power policy that are having the deep sleep issue. However, we have hundreds of others that aren't experiencing the issues. Same generation of machines across the board. It's very strange.
