Joining Windows 7 to SBS 2008
I have been using Win 7 RC for some months, but not with SBS 2008.I have today tried to connect both 32 and 64 bit Genuine RTM , not beta, not RC, but I find none of my PCs "meet the maximum operating system requirements...". the link presented leads to a reference to SBS2003 which is not relevant.I am not an enthusiastic hot blooded youngster, I am 58 and I have to keep my customers satisfied. Luckily, I have the home number of one of my customers main suppliers and have been able to cancel the Vaio 31Z (at 2,400) as being "not (currently) fit for purpose".Their options now are to stay with existing hardware and XP or finally give up with MS after the experience of Vista.

Do you mean when joining a SBS2008 domain? Which page is shown? When does the meet the maximum operating system requirements..." appear? It is better to capture screenshots to describe this issue. You may submit the screenshots into your SkyDriveArthur Xie - MSFT

Your SBS server does not have the current rollup package installed. Without this SBS doesn't recognize the operating system that is trying to connect to it.Take a look at Issue #1http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;969121

That sounds like DNS is notconfigured properly on the workstationand a forwarder is in place or a DNS suffix is wrong. At an elevated command prompt typenslookup connectPost the results.Kerry Brown MS-MVP - Windows Desktop Experience
