Keypad not working
The numeric keypad will not work. I have no idea why and how to fix it. I have a Toshiba windows 8. The numeric keypad used to work until my computer somehow installed sticky keys without my permission and I uninstalled them. Now the keypad doesn't work and I've gone through all the settings in the control panel and tried everything I could find on Microsoft's oline page to fix it. I've trouble shooted as best I could and now I'm stuck. I've never resorted to a forum post before for help, but I would really like the keypad to work again for my math class for university. Thank you so much if you could figure out the problem. I don't know what information to send given I don't know what the problem really is caused by. I've tried even the silly things like turning it on and off again, and seeing if somehow it got wired backwards and tried seeing if somehow it would work without the number lock turned on instead of when it is turned on. Nothing has worked and I've tried for weeks. Sorry for this long ramble, I just am so flustered and confused and would seriously love some suggestions on how to fix this. I have not installed 8.1, so that's not the problem either. (I never let updates run until I've read through all the problems with it that other people have had and figured out how to fix them.) Thank you ever so much!

Use drivers from Toshiba (not from optional MS updates!). Ask Toshiba forum/support for help, as it may be specific problem of computer model.

Hi,

First of all, please check Device manager if there is any yellow driver message relate with this keypad, If so, try to uninstall its driver and reinstall it agagin for test.

Secondly, What's your meaning of Sticky keys here, is it a 3rd software? As far as I know Sticky key is a Windows feature and you can find it in Control Panel:

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Ease of Access Center\Make the keyboard easier to use

Please check its status, if it was enabled, try to disable it for test.

my computer somehow installed sticky keys without my permission and I uninstalled them.

Sticky keys is an Accessibility option which can be activated as simply as pressing on any key too long and then allowing Sticky keys to become enabled.  Then you would need to find it in the Accessibility settings and uncheck it to disable it.  Only.  Is that what you meant by "uninstall" Sticky Keys?

Otherwise a reason why a Numeric keypad "wouldn't work" is that NumLock would be off.  Even if your keyboard does not have either a NumLock key or a Numeric keypad you can still use both via the On-Screen Keyboard (osk.exe).  So, start that up.  Configure it to show the Numeric keypad and then see what the state of your real Numeric keypad is with it.  E.g. if the OSK's NumLock is not on it would explain your symptom.
